Paint Pad For 5th Ed Discover The Inner Artist In Yourself!

Paint Pad is a significantly improved version of the Forum Nokia’s Mobile Paint sample application for S60 5th edition devices.
The interface has been given a complete overhaul and it is pure pleasure to use it now. It brings some new features to the table, such as ability to use photos as backgrounds and input text with different size and colours to name a few.
Tool bar is no longer free-floating as in the Mobile Paint but is conveniently docked down at the bottom of the screen or on the right side in landscape mode. Again the changes are more than just cosmetic as each of the tools has been rethought and updated.

There are now whooping 16 tools on the bar and you can move elements, zoom, input text and clear screen.
Further more there is an eraser, pencil, spray tool and renewed colour palette that lets you seamlessly switch between the tools colours and fills.
There are also two basic shape tools, circle and the receptacle and for both you can easily switch between the line and fill mode. Brush handling remains pretty much the same and you can choose between the three different sizes and the numerous colours options.
It also features two basic file manipulating icons, the option to start new and save current work and last, but certainly not least, there is a handy one step undo and redo feature.
Digging in further you might notice that now you can use a solid colour as background or load photo or graphic through the default gallery application and finally you can even use an instantly taken photo. Once when your masterpiece is finished you can save to gallery, set it as phone wallpaper or send greetings to your friends.

With the release of Paint Pad Forum Nokia’s Mobile Paint app goes professional and sucessfully rips of windows paint application and thanks to the touch user interface is actually even better option.
The functionality is certainly impressive but there is a room for improvements, it will be nice to see an addition of the layers in next version, multiple undo and redo features, fill tool, possibility to add svg elements and the use different font styles.
I’m very impressed at what has been packed into this freeware photo editor without sacrificing ease of use. If you one of those people who love sketching and painting and if you’re looking to use your phone as a sketchbook or drawing pad it is strongly recommended to get and test this application. After all you have nothing to use, application is available for free!
Ok, it is not exactly mobile version of PhotoShop, but with addition of few more options it might be the next big thing for taking digital art on the go.
